John and The Washer Game

John was home for Spring Break - Yea!  We thoroughly enjoyed having him home for a week and was thankful he didn't have to study the whole time.  One day John and I drove to Orange to have famous chicken crepes at Lucy's and then we spent an hour walking around Shangri La.  It was a fun excursion on a beautiful day!

The rest of the week (after he got up at noon) he planned, bought supplies, cut wood, painted, stapled and assembled his "Texas Tech" Washer Game.  I don't know where we've been but this game is very popular!!  Do an internet search of "Washer Game" and you will see.

He even used the scroll saw to make the double Texas Tech "T" cut out which would be on the front of each washer board section.  Underneath he put a light so in the dark the "T" would be illuminated.  Pretty cool design, huh!
Dodger, (Hillary's dog), was hanging out in the garage too.
He's a pretty good dog who never runs away and loves to have attention.

All week long it was sunny and 70...perfect for being outside!
John did all the work himself but needed some instruction from Dad to finish the project.

On Friday night we enjoyed a Crawfish supper and then played THE WASHER GAME.
Winning the game certainly takes practice and skill to throw the washer into one of the three holes for points.  On each turn you get three tries.

John is always messing with Dodger and Dodger loves it.

John, we miss you already!
Love, Mom and Dad
